Tree Update

One of the first things we did after buying our house was to re-landscape the backyard. After extensive research, we decided to plant three sweetbay magnolias along the back fence. Here's what they looked like the day they were planted.

And here they are today.

Other than re-grading the backyard to prevent pools of water from forming after heavy rains, these trees are the best landscape decision we've made. They have lemon-vanilla blossoms in the spring, keep their leaves year-round, and have needed zero maintenance.

While we're taking a look back at trees, here's the autumn blaze maple we planted in the front yard. It was a tiny little thing right after being planted.

And now it's starting to look more substantial.

Keep growing, little guy! We need you to provide us with shade once the dying maple tree next to you finally gives up the ghost.
