Tool Takeover

Remember when I talked about adding a shed with electricity for a workshop? Well, this might actually be happening... just in a different way than originally discussed.

It all started with a table saw and a dream.

In this dream, the front wall of the garage is transformed into a workshop on wheels. One that can be pulled out and used for projects but can also be put away so the car can still be kept in the garage.

Enter... friends of table saw.

As it turns out, table saws can be very lonely without friends or family. Our table saw was miserable until his relatives circular saw, router, miter saw, brad nailer, and clamps arrived. Now they seem to be one big happy tool family.

Tool family also made friends with some large sheets of wood.

But I'm starting to wonder... is this just an innocent gathering of friends and family or is this some sort of tool takeover of the garage? Only time will tell.

I'll leave you with this pro tip: if you're taking over the garage with tools and wood, be sure to bring home flowers (or a plant) for your wife.

Farewell, YHL

Friends, it's a sad day in blog world. My favorite blog and do-it-yourself inspiration, Young House Love, has called it quits.

I can't say that I blame them for their decision to stop blogging, but I will certainly miss keeping up with their latest projects.

End of sad rant.

For now.

Living Room and Hallway

Our living room and hallway are now "Edgecomb Gray." Here are the stats:

  • Four gallons of paint: We bought a five gallon bucket so we'd have enough for the kitchen as well.
  • Three rolls of Frog Tape: I'd like to commend the maker of Frog Tape. It is so much better than any other painters tape we've tried.
  • Two painters, both with three-day weekends thanks to Columbus Day.
  • One puppy who was not happy about being confined to the kitchen while the living room was being painted.

what have we done?!

painted and put back together!
Left to be painted: kitchen, master bedroom, and master bath. The office is painted but we still need to get photos once a couple of things are hung on the walls.

Update: The office is finished! Here it is.

Bean

I took this photo the other night and then realized what a perfect L.L. Bean advertisement it would make.

Allie needs to start cashing in on some doggie modeling to support her lavish lifestyle.
