House Happenings

Here's what we've been up to lately!

Garage shelving installation:

TV mounting and cord concealing:

Before adding cord management hardware.
While adding cord management hardware.
This is what it looks like under the cord covers.
The finished look!
And no, we don't watch The X Factor - it was a commercial.

Flowers on the front porch:

Tile decisions:
The tile we've chosen will look similar to this!
And so much more, but we'll save that for another day.

CA / FL

While J was presenting at a conference in California, A had the pleasure of vacationing in Florida!

J didn't take any photos of the conference, but if he had they might look something like this:

Unless, of course, he had taken a photo during his presentation:

A, on the other hand, did take photos.  Try not to be too jealous of the beach:

It was a rough week going to the beach, eating delicious seafood, and shopping, but it had to be done!

Yoshi

Our first landscape addition is home and ready to be planted!

Meet Yoshi, our Yoshino Cherry Tree:

Since we live in the DC area, we were thrilled when the landscape designer recommended a cherry tree to give us some shade in the front yard.  While I was at Lowe's buying bath hardware today, I found the exact variety of cherry tree that was recommended for our yard!

I called J and he was so excited that he came to the store right away and rented a truck to bring the tree home.  (Side note: it only costs $19 to rent a truck at Lowe's for 75 minutes - what a deal!).

Driving the tree home tested my nerves a little, especially when we drove under power lines and low tree branches.

But Yoshi made it home safely!

I think he likes our yard already.
