Showers

We've been staying busy with house projects! In big decision news, we picked the grout for our shower... linen. We also considered doing a gray to pick up the gray tones in the tile as well as a darker brown to pick up the darker shades, but decided that linen will give it a more timeless look by making the grout lines blend as much as possible.

We went to a real tile shop with actual grout samples.
I hate trying to choose colors from the brochures at home improvement stores.

Before we can start tiling, we have a lot of other things to take care of. The plumbing is done, the niches are installed, the floor has been leveled, and the cement board is in the process of being completed.

Niches added, floor prepped for leveling.

After leveling.
J describes the leveling process as
"90 seconds of sheer terror."

Cement board being completed.

Next comes adding the pan and curb to the base, as well as installing the waterproofing membrane throughout. Then it's time for tile!

This week we had another type of shower... a sun shower. The weather has been unusually warm and two evenings straight the sky just opened up while the sun was shining. We also got a double rainbow!

Double rainbow... but what does it mean?!

Downpour.

Thankfully, J had patched and resealed our driveway last weekend before all the rain came.

Oooooh. Ahhhhhhh.
Our neighbor asked if we had gotten a new driveway installed, so I guess that means he did a good job!
