Three Weeks Later...

It's been three weeks since we planted our herbs and veggies.  Here's what they looked like just after planting.

And here they are today!

Here's a breakdown of their progress.
  • Tomato: The first tomato is nearly ready to be picked and a second isn't far behind.  There are also many, many more blossoms on the plant.
  • Basil: This plant is growing like crazy!  It's about quadruple its original size.
  • Rosemary: Not much growth but the plant seems to be healthy.
  • Chive: This is the first herb we used.  We snipped some up to have on top of baked potatoes and it was delicious!
  • Boxwood Basil:  One of the three original bunches on the plant died shortly after planting, but the two that are left continue to grow well.
  • Parsley: This is growing like mad!  I might need to snip some for garnishes soon before it takes over the planter.
  • Oregano: Slowly but surely growing and filling up the pot it's in.
  • Peppers: One teenie weenie pepper just started to grow and two more blossoms are just starting to bloom.
  • Cucumber: This plant is becoming a monster!  It just started growing some blossoms so we'll hopefully have some little cucumbers soon.  The plant is about to climb off the table in the meantime.
Maybe I'm just a nerd, but I really enjoy the satisfaction of walking out on the patio while dinner is cooking and snipping a few herbs to use.  And, take note everyone, I haven't killed anything yet!
